Northwest Foundation awards a record-breaking one million dollars in scholarship support

Northwest Missouri State University's Foundation Board has awarded its second-highest level of scholarship distributions for fiscal year 2019 and secured 5.3 million dollars in donor funding. Executive Director of Advancement and the Chief Financial Officer for Northwest Foundation, Lori Steiner, says Northwest's scholarship support has increased this year.

"The Northwest Foundation is happy to be able to provide scholarship support to Northwest students.  Our generous donors have provided numerous endowed scholarships over the years.  We are pleased to be able to report that we've had a record breaking year in providing that scholarship support with over 1300 scholarships awarded and our first time breaking a million dollar in scholarship support to the university."

Steiner adds the Foundation board has changed the management fee in the endowment policy to make more funds available for scholarships.

"They dropped that from 1.95% to 1.75% so that will ultimately increase the availability of funds for scholarships in the future."
